After all the comments on the last video asking how far the little Dumbleton could be pushed, I went back to the bench and started experimenting.

It turns out this tiny LM386 amp can actually do quite a lot with just a few simple mods.

In the new video <<Watch here>> I try 5 upgrades that really change how the circuit behaves, from adding a proper gain control and bright switch, to turning the whole thing into a ridiculously hot preamp you can run into a real amp.

If you’re building a Dumbleton yourself, this should give you a few fun directions to experiment with.
